About our Amnesty Bins

Referrals

We believe our streets are safer when knives are placed in amnesty bins rather than carried in pockets. That’s why we’re pushing for more knife amnesty bins throughout the Borough of Walsall.

Our JBF bins have two main roles: they provide a safe, anonymous, and responsible way to dispose of any type of knife, and they also act as an important communication tool for our communities. Each bin has a QR code that encourages anyone – especially young people – to give their feedback anonymously, helping us make sure our efforts match the needs of the community.

Just so you know, the information collected from the JBF bins isn’t published. So, disposing of knives in these bins doesn’t affect knife crime stats in your area. This fits into our larger safety strategy, which stresses the importance of properly disposing of unwanted knives to keep them out of the wrong hands. Plus, throwing knives in regular household waste can cause accidents and injuries, making it even more important to find safer options. Knife amnesty bins provide a proactive solution that focuses on community safety and helps protect us all.
