Who Am I? Who Influences Me?
A Year 6, 7 & 8 workshop on identity, influence and positive choices
Every young person is shaped by the people, images and messages around them. This workshop helps young people in Year 6, 7 and 8 understand who they are, what influences them, and how to make positive choices rooted in their own values and trusted relationships.
Through relatable, age-appropriate activities, young people build confidence in their own identity, sharpen their critical thinking, and learn to spot the difference between influences that lift them up and ones that don’t.
Why This Workshop?
Young people are surrounded by messages – from friends, family, social media, gaming, music and the news, all shaping how they see themselves and the world. This session gives pupils the tools to navigate that with confidence, helping them build:
- Positive identity
- Belonging
- Critical thinking
- Online awareness
- Recognising influence
- Trusted relationships
- Positive decision-making
The result is a session young people genuinely connect with – practical, engaging, and relevant to every pupil in the room.
What They’ll Take Away
By the end of the session, they will:
- Have a stronger sense of their own identity and values
- Be better able to spot and question the influences around them
- Think more critically about images, media and online content
- Feel more confident making positive choices for themselves
- Recognise the trusted people they can turn to for support
Nobody else gets to decide your story. You do.
